Full Private Practice - What does that mean?
Ever wonder if your private practice is really full?
Sometimes you might think:
I have to be super busy to be full…
I have to have to have x amount of sessions to be full…
My friend sees 10 more clients a week than me, I guess I’m not full..
Full doesn't mean successful. You could have a ton of clients and be charging a fee that is all over the place or doesn’t allow you to run a business optimally, or take care of you optimally.
Full doesn't mean happy. You could be seeing a ton of clients that are not the right fit, sessions that drain you and lead to more stress and burnout.
Full doesn't mean great outcomes. You could be seeing a ton of clients with high turnover, high drop out rates and low outcomes with clients.
Training Updates from Houston, TX
We were delighted to be invited by the Texas Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to present at their Private Practice Success conference last week. We met therapists at all stages of private practice and got to support them through trainings and conversations. Therapists earned CE units learning about how to set an ethical fee and charge it with integrity to get better outcomes with clients, and how to market to create better clinical outcomes.
We LOVED (and hated) having therapists come up to us after our trainings and say “I wish I’d heard this information 10 years ago!”
Case Study: From Insurance Solo Practice to Private Pay Group Practice
Yolanda and Shamon join us from a private pay group counseling practice in Florida to share their growth story. They share a little bit of the story of a private practice that was taking over life on nights and weekends to one that has boundaries, has a clear vision, and is successful.
Listen to what was most helpful to them as they grew their private practices.
7 Key Processes Every Private Practice Needs
Processes can seem soooooo boring but they are critical to your business running smoothly. You can probably tell by the length of the video, it’s important to us to help you get these locked down for your private practice.
Innovation in Private Practice
Your Private Practice is an Opportunity
Our hope for you is to create a private practice that provides stellar outcomes for clients, increases accessibility to good mental health care. It takes innovation and creativity as well as attunement to provide services that are uniquely your own. It is NECESSARY if we want to reduce stigma, help people heal and shift their family trees and change the story for not only themselves but for their generation and communities
What is the Absolute FASTEST Way to Fill Your Practice?
To be successful in private practice, you need a steady stream of clients. You can have the most beautiful office, an amazing website, a great location, and fabulous skills to help people, but if nobody is calling... you don’t have a viable business. Here’s the fastest way to fill your practice and change that!
No-Show Policy: The Dos and Don’ts of Client No-Shows in Your Private Practice
The clock ticks past the hour and your client isn’t there. You wait. You stare at the couch (maybe contemplate taking a nap) and your anticipation builds. Are they not showing up for their appointment?
It happens. People miss appointments. Heck, I’ve missed appointments. For some practices it happens often, and for others it’s something they worry will happen. More often than not, the worry is because every late cancellation or no-show has been handled on a case by case basis and there are no processes in place.

Let’s talk more about expanding into group practice and whether it’s right for you at your current stage!

Starting a Psychology Practice: From No Practice to Group Practice - Dr. Abi

Private Practice Challenge Week 2: Fees
We are talking about money. We all want to make money, but we don’t always love talking about it. We want to focus on the clinical work and ignore the money, but the two are absolutely intertwined!
FEAR NOT - we’ve got a plan.
In this training we talked about how to break down how your vision leads to you determining your fee. You will walk away with a clear formula on how to determine your fee, how to talk about your fee with new clients and how to raise that fee with current clients. We will also talk about what to do if you take insurance or sliding scale clients.
Private Practice Challenge Week 4: Marketing
A lot of courses focus on marketing. It’s one of the first things we jump to when we think about our practices - how to get clients in the door. But you notice how we didn’t start with marketing? You notice how we wanted you to get clear on what services you provide and WHO you want to serve?
“BST was the best investment I have made in myself. I went from working 45-50 hours per week to working 25 hrs, doubling my income,” Cyndi
What if this really could change everything?
You don’t have to decide today.
Just get on the interest list and we’ll walk you through what Business School for Therapists is, what it includes, and how it’s helped thousands of therapists get their life (and income) back.
