Publishing a Book: Managing and Expanding Your Practice with Kelsey
Starting a practice and publishing a book are no easy tasks. Kelsey's done both while raising her daughter and expanding into group practice. We interviewed her last year as she worked on her book, and shortly before its release (March 1st), Kelsey joined Miranda on the podcast to share her publishing process and how her practice continues to operate as she begins to shift her focus to the book.
Kelsey noticed a lack of information in the field and wanted to make sure teens with anxiety were recognized. Inspired by her clients, she created her book to aid teens with anxiety-based anger.
The book outlines a treatment plan, provides insight into anxiety-based anger, and features hands-on chapters. Kelsey wants teens to be able to take skills home after sessions, and her book isn’t just for teens — it’s also for therapists who can implement it into their own practices!
In this episode, Kelsey talks about being away for her practice while on a book tour and how she automated processes and trained staff so her practice can continue to do amazing work without her. She also shares how publishing a book can benefit your practice in the future and how publishing shouldn't be seen as a passive stream of income.
