There’s no doubt that graduate school and agency work provide the necessary knowledge and skills to become a licensed therapist and get good clinical outcomes.

Haley, a successful private practice owner and member of the Business School for Therapists community, has experienced burnout and found a way to overcome it.

After opening her private practice in 2021, Haley struggled with burnout and grief after a personal loss, causing her to close her practice temporarily. Through her journey, she realized the importance of self-care and setting healthy boundaries. She believes in order to provide the best care for her clients, she needs to take care of herself first.

With this new perspective, Haley reopened her private practice with the goal of creating a business aligned with her values and needs.

By implementing a cancellation fee, accountability measures, and prioritizing her well-being, Haley’s built a successful practice with a full caseload of 12 clients a week while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
