Multi-passionate Success: Meet Addyson

Addyson Tucker is a Psychologist in Rhode Island who is doing things differently in a beautiful way. They created a clinical practice that is sustainable, profitable and reaches their ideal clients. At the same time, they’ve created space to train and provide consultation and resources to mental health providers. They’ve created resources like:

They shared their story of how things have changed in their life and practice since they found zynnyme and Business School for Therapists.

Here is a summary of the video they sent us:

“I just had to share this journey with you all – if I kept waiting for the 'perfect' moment to tell it, I might never have! No notes, no rehearsals, just me and my story. It's incredible to think about how much healing and growth have happened in my life over the past few years, and a big shoutout to zynnyme and the amazing team of Kelly, Miranda, and others for being a part of this transformative journey.

A few years ago, I found myself emerging from a really tough and oppressive work environment. It took a toll, and I spent years trying to recover in another setting that never quite felt right. That's when I realized – I needed a change, and private practice was my calling, though I never imagined it would be!

I remember attending a free marketing masterclass by zynnyme. Connecting with other providers there sparked something in me. It gave me the courage to invest in myself and my practice and to really trust in my own expertise, skills, and passion (mixed with a bit of naivete about the business world, but hey, we all start somewhere!).

Looking back, I'm astounded by the list of accomplishments I've jotted down recently. It's not just about the modules or content; it's about the space I've created in my practice. I now see fewer clients but at a rate that works for me, covering my business needs and leaving me time to explore and experiment with the things that excite my brain.

This journey has been incredibly human – trying, failing, getting frustrated, and trying again. zynnyme provided me with a space where I could be myself without any shame, whether I was doing too much or not enough. It’s a place where I learned to say 'no' when needed and 'yes' when I truly wanted to. I’ve become more connected to myself, my needs, and my values. I’ve learned to push back, ask for what I need, take time off, and prioritize both vacation and business in a balanced way.

I owe so much of this growth to the community and support I found at zynnyme's business school. Being a part of this community has been a game-changer for me.

So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for being part of my story, and I hope this inspires you to take that leap of faith in your own journey, wherever it may lead!”

What about you? What would you create and put out into the world if you had the confidence, knowledge and support to be successful? We’d love to hear about it! Miranda Palmer
I have successfully built a cash pay psychotherapy practice from scratch on a shoestring budget. I have also failed a licensed exam by 1 point (only to have the licensing board send me a later months later saying I passed), started an online study group to ease my own isolation and have now reached thousands of therapists across the country, helped other therapists market their psychotherapy practices, and helped awesome business owners move from close to closing their doors, to being profitable in less than 6 weeks. I've failed at launching online programs. I've had wild success at launching online programs. I've made mistakes in private practice I've taught others how to avoid my mistakes. You can do this. You were called to this work. Now- go do it! Find some help or inspiration as you need it- but do the work!
