Podcast: Tools to Help you Succeed
Growing a practice isn't always easy but we all start somewhere. I was elated to be invited by Matt Bierd at Virtual LPC to be his first podcast interview.
We talked about tools to use to overcome obstacles and make the process of growth easier. Thank you Matt for the opportunity to meet with you. You are an upstanding human and I had a blast.
16 Reasons Therapists are Attending the Most Awesome Conference
Kelly, Joe, and I were all together in Orlando, Fl for the American Counseling Association's Annual Conference. As we were chatting, we thought we'd ask a question to the attendees who've already signed up for the Most Awesome Conference for Therapists. The answers we received gave us chills!
Reason #1: Connecting with Therapists Who Practice Abundance
I signed up for the conference because being around fellow business owners that practice abundance and encouragement fills me up! The greatest benefit so far is expanding and deepening the online relationships I've made. Anna Osborn, LMFT www.annaosbornmft.com
Reason #2: This is a rite of passage
4 Awesome Lessons from the American Counseling Association Conference
#1. Get to know people.
Don't just focus on trading business cards or looking for people that can support you- focus on really getting to know people you are drawn to. Let relationships develop naturally and you might be amazed at some of the opportunities that will develop. Example: I met an amazing presenter and private practice owner from Russia and was able to sit down and interview him about positive psychotherapy and the challenges of developing a private practice in Russia (not much different than the rest of the World!) To do this week: Call 2 people in your area and really attempt to get to know them.
2015 ZynnyMe Awards
We are excited to officially announce (we realized we hadn't shared it on the blog) that not only were we nominated for Private Practice Consultant of the Year, and Private Practice Resource of the Year- but we WON in both categories! Feel free to watch the fun, and a bit silly awards show below!
Post Your Question for Irvin D. Yalom- Yes- Really!
We get to video interview Irvin D. Yalom for PsychCentral. Let me repeat that. Kelly Higdon and Miranda Palmer get to sit down and have a conversation with Dr. Irvin D. Yalom- the father of group psychotherapy- the still practicing 84 year old psychotherapist.
Wow! So how did this happen? The really short story is we asked. The long story is that we have done a lot to build our business in the last few years that made it easy for Irvin D. Yalom to say yes! We will be sharing the Video Interview on PsychCentral in Spring of 2015, but we haven't interviewed him yet. And guess what that means?
The "M" Word: Talking to Therapists about Money
So this weekend Kelly and I presented at the 2013 Annual California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) conference. We go to present for 1 hour on Top Tips for Going Paperless. And while we did our best to pack as much in as we could in such a small amount of time- it wasn't enough! (We had sent in a 4 or 6 hour proposal for this topic and they gave us a 1-hour slot! (Which we are SO glad we got to talk and meet some awesome therapists!)
So... as we were agonizing about what we include on our slides, I noticed how uncomfortable I was with the idea of putting any words up that related to money or profits. Why? Because I knew that it would set off alarm bells in our audience.
Shhh.... I have a secret.... Event
“BST was the best investment I have made in myself. I went from working 45-50 hours per week to working 25 hrs, doubling my income,” Cyndi
What if this really could change everything?
You don’t have to decide today.
Just get on the interest list and we’ll walk you through what Business School for Therapists is, what it includes, and how it’s helped thousands of therapists get their life (and income) back.
