Your experience with Bootcamp in one sentence: BSB helped me to articulate myself authentically and powerfully to my ideal clients.

How were you feeling before you signed up for Bootcamp?: I was feeling a bit hesitant, particularly about investing in it when I didn't have much income yet from my private practice. It was totally worth it though — I feel supported by the BSB community, more confident being my true self even as a therapist, and it keeps me accountable to continuing to cultivate my business well!

What did your private practice look like before Bootcamp started?: I did not have many clients and knew very little about marketing a private practice.

How do you feel after Business School Bootcamp for Therapists?: Now, I feel more at ease as a business owner and more willing to reach out and take risks. In particular, I feel excited about my website after receiving advice and coaching from BSB — and I have gotten a lot of positive feedback about it from clients and other counselors! After reading through my website and watching my video blogs, clients have chosen me over their insurance providers because they are convinced we would be a good fit. When they call me, they talk to me as if they have already met me. Making the video blogs has also boosted my own confidence in front of the camera and for my upcoming speaking engagements, and I'm more able to accept myself with my imperfection presentation, while also honestly assessing my growing edges as a speaker. I so am grateful to have an abundance of information that BSB provides to go back to whenever I want to, throughout my entire career!

How has your private practice and life changed after Bootcamp (processes, clinically, work-life balance, financially)?: My practice has grown financially, I feel more able to integrate my personal and professional identity (i.e., talking authentically on my website rather than using clinical language that clients can't relate to), and I feel generally more able to articulate myself as a clinician and to my ideal client.

What would you say to someone else who is on the fence about joining Business School Bootcamp for Therapists?: I would say do it, for sure! Kelly and Miranda are incredibly thorough in the information they provide and they make themselves available to boot campers in ways that are helpful and personal. The fact that you have lifetime access to the resources and community will be a huge source of support and encouragement for you and helps to combat the isolation that private practitioners too often feel.

What do you wish you had known about private practice before you started?: I wish I knew not to compare my own journey in private practice to someone else's, and that it is okay to be myself and offer something authentic to my ideal clients, rather than focusing on how I think I "should" appear to them based on what other people are doing.
