Business Coaching Built For How Therapists Actually Work

Most business coaching hands you a system and tells you to follow it. We tried that, and realized fast that what worked for us didn't automatically work for every therapist we coached. Where you're located matters. Who you serve matters. Your fee tolerance, your capacity, your history, your nervous system — it all matters.

Kelly Higdon, LMFT and Miranda Palmer, LMFT didn't come from the business world. They came from the therapy room, the psych hospital, the nonprofit, the graduate classroom. [link: "Kelly and Miranda" → About page or individual CVs] They've made the mistakes, learned what couldn't be replicated, and spent over a decade building processes and best practices that actually flex — to your personality, your practice context, and your clients. That foundation shapes everything about how zynnyme coaches.

🧠 Your whole self is part of the work. We coach to your nervous system, your values, and your intersecting identities — not just your revenue goals. We won't recommend something that doesn't fit who you actually are.

👥 You get a team, not just a coach. Your coach actively collaborates with Kelly, Miranda, and the rest of our team — so you're drawing from collective expertise that spans solo practices, group practices, course creation, authorship, and clinical leadership.

🎯 All coaches are Brainspotting trained. Not as a differentiator on paper — but because it's how we actually help you remove the blocks that strategy alone can't touch.

📊 We track outcomes because we care if it's working. Our programs are continuously refined based on real client data. We know what works — and we update what we teach when we learn something better.

Two Ways to Work With Us — and How to Know Which One is Right for You

After 15+ years of coaching therapists in private practice, we've learned that what most people need isn't more options — it's the right one. Based on our outcome data, Business School for Therapists produces the strongest results for 95% of therapists we work with. The Breakthrough Session exists for therapists who want expert eyes on their specific situation before committing, or who have more specialized or niche needs that warrant a closer look first. Either way, your $400 is fully credited toward BST or a 1:1 six-session coaching package if you enroll within 5 days.

A note on 1:1 coaching packages: If your coach recommends a 1:1 package after your Breakthrough Session, that's 6 sessions — approximately 6 hours total. For most therapists, the depth, accountability, curriculum, and built-in 1:1 session of Business School simply can't be replicated in that window. That's why we recommend BST first in 95% of cases. But we'll always tell you the truth about what will actually serve you best.

What Becomes Possible

These aren’t outliers. This is what happens when therapists stop guessing and start getting the right support.

GET THE PHONE RINGING: “My in person and online marketing efforts (website) are working! 4 new full fee clients in the past week! 1 coaching and 3 ART! YAHOOOOOOOOOO! What a difference 1 week can make, right, zynnyme Coach Becca!? Huge shift from the last coaching call when I said the phone calls had been eerily quiet. Feeling so good how things are in flow and that I never panicked. I just kept trusting and kept working the program.” - Jennifer

FULL FREE GROUP PRACTICE “If I could give a million stars, I would, but the limit was five, so that's what I gave, and I give that with full confidence. When I started working with coaching, I was in solo private practice. I had about six to eight clients... and my full fee was definitely under what it should have been. And now fast forward to today, I have a group practice with three full-time therapists who are full and we were getting ready to hire another one.” - Lauran

IDEAL CLIENTS SOLO PRACTICE “After Business School, I feel like I have a community of people (coaches and peers) who know me and are rooting for me. The course content is insanely comprehensive, which helped me to feel grounded in my knowledge. BS helped me make decisions from a place of being informed by facts, as opposed to a place of "that sounds good, let's do it". All that helped me to feel more confident. I have more private paying clients than before. I'm attracting more of my ideal clients. I feel more intentional about my practice and know what to do to grow it, as opposed to shooting darts in the dark and hoping something sticks. Another difference is that I network a TON now, about 2-3x/week. This is such a huge accomplishment for me given how much I HATED the idea of networking before.” - Nina

DOUBLE THE INCOME "After implementing what I learned in Business School, my practice is completely different. I got super clear on my niche, raised my rate, dropped insurance, only work with ideal clients, and I’ve doubled my income."- Maya

Miranda Palmer LMFT co-founder fo zynnyme is a white woman with red hair wearing a blue shirt and Kelly Higdon, LMFT is a white person with blonde hair wearing a blue topy

FAQs about coaching for therapists

Everything you’re wondering, answered honestly.

  • The Breakthrough Session is a single 30-minute 1:1 strategy session. You complete an in-depth practice assessment beforehand, then your coach sits down with you, reviews your situation, and builds a real 30-day action plan. It's a snapshot — a fast, focused shot of clarity. Business School for Therapists is our flagship ongoing coaching program — curriculum built for your stage of practice, individualized coaching responses to your questions, group coaching calls, community, and lifetime access to materials. Think of the Breakthrough Session as a powerful starting point. Business School is where you build momentum over time.

  • Not if you're heading straight into Business School — you can enroll in BST directly. But if you're interested in 1:1 coaching packages, yes, the Breakthrough Session is required first. That's not a hoop to jump through — it's how we make sure we actually know your practice before making any recommendations. We won't suggest something that isn't right for you, and we can't know what's right without doing the work first.

  • You walk away with a clear 30-day action plan and an honest recommendation from your coach. Depending on what comes up in your session, that recommendation might be Business School for Therapists, a 1:1 coaching package, or both. Some therapists leave ready to enroll in something right away. Others take their plan and run with it on their own for a while — and that's completely fine too. No pressure, ever. And if you do decide to join Business School within 5 days, your $400 session fee gets credited toward your enrollment.

  • Yes — if your coach recommends it after your Breakthrough Session, you can move into a 1:1 coaching package of 6 or 12 sessions without enrolling in Business School. That said, not everyone will be recommended for 1:1 coaching — it depends on what comes up in your assessment and what your coach genuinely believes will serve you best. We'd rather give you the right support than the most expensive one.

  • It's both — and that's exactly the point. Yes, there's a curriculum. But there's also a real coaching layer where you submit your actual questions and get individualized responses by video or text from a zynnyme coach. Not a forum post. Not a chatbot. A real person who knows your practice, answering your specific question. You also get group coaching calls where your situation gets addressed directly. Nobody else is doing this combination for therapists in private practice — and that's not us being cocky, it's just true.

  • Kelly and Miranda coach exclusively within Business School — and yes, they are genuinely in there. We keep 1:1 spots with Kelly and Miranda limited so the quality stays high, which means availability isn't guaranteed. But every BST member benefits from their input because our coaching team collaborates actively. Your coach brings your situation to the table — so even if you're not in a session with Kelly or Miranda directly, their perspective is in the room.

  • We match you based on your goals, your stage of practice, and fit. Every coach on our team has been coaching therapists for 6+ years across solo and group practice — so there's no bad match, just different strengths. And because our team collaborates closely, you're never limited to just one coach's perspective anyway.

  • Every zynnyme coach has 6+ years of experience coaching therapists specifically — not general business coaching, not life coaching, but private practice coaching. All of our coaches are Brainspotting trained, which means they're equipped to help you work through the mindset blocks and nervous system patterns that often get in the way of building a sustainable practice. Our team includes LMFTs, authors, speakers, group practice owners, course creators, and educators — people who have actually built the things they're helping you build.

  • We're not going to trash other coaches — there are good ones out there. What we will say is this: we work exclusively with therapists in private practice. We've been doing it since 2010. We hold an intersectional lens and we genuinely care about what's right for you — your values, your nervous system, your specific situation — not just what works on paper. We don't assume we know what's best for you before we know you. That's why everything starts with an assessment. And we track outcomes because we actually care whether this is working.
